At EZ-ACCESS®, we pride ourselves not just on the products we create but on the incredible people behind them. This month, we are excited to celebrate three outstanding team members: Suzanne W., Mike D., and Tim F., who have collectively dedicated nearly 60 years of service to our mission of providing access to life beyond barriers. Each of these employees has played a vital role in shaping our company and ensuring that our values of community, innovation, and care remain at the forefront of everything we do.
Suzanne W. – 19 Years of Community and Culture
As our Corporate Culture & Community Engagement Manager, Suzanne W. has been a part of EZ-ACCESS for 19 years, and her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Suzanne has worn many hats over the years, growing alongside the company.
Reflecting on her time at EZ-ACCESS, Suzanne recalls the moment she truly connected with our mission. "Early in my career, I worked with the purchasing agents at Veterans Affairs hospitals. The smiles and ‘thumbs up’ from Veterans and their families when they received their new ramps always brought tears of joy to my eyes." This deep connection to our customers’ experiences is what has fueled her dedication over the years.
One of Suzanne’s favorite memories is when the company celebrated its first $4 million month with a day at the Washington State Fair. "Seeing our EZ-ACCESS families having the time of their lives, all in our bright turquoise shirts, was a proud and joyful moment." Suzanne’s ability to bring people together and foster a sense of community has made her a key figure in maintaining the company’s culture.
For Suzanne, working at EZ-ACCESS means more than just a job. It’s a place where she has been able to grow both professionally and personally. Her advice to new employees? "Get involved, give it a try! Whether it’s learning a new skill or attending a community event, these experiences build character and inspiration."
Mike D. – 20 Years of Craftsmanship and Growth
Mike D., who just celebrated 20 years with EZ-ACCESS, began his career as a MIG Welder before rising to his current role as Manufacturing Manager. Over the years, he has taken on many roles—Customs, Manufacturing Lead, R&D, Scheduler, and more. Mike’s journey is a testament to the opportunities for growth at EZ-ACCESS.
For Mike, what keeps him motivated is simple: knowing the difference our products make in people’s lives. "I enjoy sharing this with employees every chance I get." His favorite memories are the celebrations that include everyone, from free lunches to family events. "Not everyone can always go places, so it excites me that we create these opportunities for employees and their families to celebrate together."
Mike fondly remembers the time one of our owners, Don Everard, spent two months working with him on the second shift when he became a supervisor. "It showed me how much Don cared for the success of the business and my personal growth." This experience has shaped Mike’s own leadership style, reminding him to always lend a helping hand.
His advice to new employees? "Work hard, and the benefits will pay off. You never know when an opportunity will come up."
Tim F. – 20 Years of Logistics and Heart
As our Logistics, Safety, and Facilities Manager, Tim F. has been a cornerstone of EZ-ACCESS for 20 years. Starting as an Operations Manager, Tim has continually evolved, embracing new responsibilities and helping others do the same.
For Tim, the most fulfilling part of his job is knowing that each day, the work we do helps others live life to the fullest. One of his most memorable moments was installing a wheelchair ramp for a young girl in Tacoma, WA. "Seeing the joy and enthusiasm on her face, and the tears in her parents' eyes, reminded me why we do what we do."
Tim also cherishes the company’s commitment to supporting its employees and their families. He recalls the holiday food baskets provided by the owners as a meaningful gesture of appreciation. "It was an impressive sight to see semi-trailers full of these baskets, ensuring each family had a nice holiday dinner."
His advice to new team members? "Don’t be afraid to work hard and let your gift shine."
A Grateful Team, a Lasting Legacy
At EZ-ACCESS, we are incredibly fortunate to have Suzanne, Mike, and Tim as part of our family. Their passion, dedication, and leadership have not only contributed to the success of our company but also created a lasting impact on their colleagues and the communities we serve. Their collective experiences embody the values that make EZ-ACCESS a great place to work—a sense of purpose, a commitment to growth, and a deep-rooted belief in the power of teamwork.
We thank them for their years of service and look forward to many more celebrations together!
